Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner 24H only comes in one colour in the UK however otherwise it comes in 4 shades – Black, Brown, Charcoal and Eggplant. Since I’m in the UK I purchased the Blackest Black (Intense Black)
Once opening the packaging I was surprised at how small the brush and pot actually were, I felt quite deceived. The eyeliner claims to be smudge-proof and waterproof for 24 hours. For me, it smudged after a few hours since I have oily skin. Eyeliner tends to press on the top part of my eyelids so I thought this gel eyeliner wouldn’t do that but sadly it did. You have to beware of rubbing your eyes since it’s a gel and not a form of stain. I found it be really moist on my eyes that assumed would set but it didn’t. Aside from me not getting as long of wear out of it I really do like this product. The intense black is quite bold and the brush makes it easy to define whether you want a dramatic or soft look.
I would only use this for special occasions as the fact that you have to dip the brush into the pot takes a little more time than a pencil eyeliner. It’s also not as practical to carry in your handbag. The gel formula does make it easier to apply once you’re used to applying eyeliner with a brush. The small pot surprisingly holds a lot of gel to make it last quite awhile. If you have the right control this product can go a long way.
